24/7 Emergency Hydraulic Callout

A price and a realistic arrival time before we leave the yard, not after we finish.

Hydraulics do not fail during office hours. They fail on a Friday afternoon when the machine has to be off site by Monday, or at four in the morning on a night shift.

What happens when you call

You get asked four things: what the machine is, what has failed, where it is, and whether it can be moved. That is enough for us to tell you two useful things straight away: whether we can reach you in a timeframe that actually helps, and roughly what it will cost.

If the honest answer is that we cannot be with you until the morning, you get told that on the phone. Knowing you have a nine o’clock repair is far more useful than being told someone is on the way and then waiting up for them.

Why an independent is usually quicker than a national network

A nationwide breakdown line takes your details and then finds a local engineer to do the work. That handover is where the time goes, and the margin on top of the local engineer’s rate is where the cost goes.

Calling us means you are talking to the person who will be doing the repair. There is no dispatch layer, so the answer you get about timing is the real one.

What we can and cannot do at 2am

Hose assemblies, fittings, adaptors and topping the system back up: all normal night work. A cylinder reseal or a pump strip is daytime work in a workshop, and if that is what has actually gone we will tell you rather than spending your night confirming it.

Where a machine only needs to be moved rather than fully returned to service, there is sometimes a safe temporary option that gets it off the highway or out of the way until a proper repair can be done. We will talk that through with you on site.

What is included

  1. One number, answered by the engineer who is coming out, not a call centre booking a subcontractor.
  2. You are told the price and a realistic arrival time before we set off, so you can decide whether to wait or stand the job down.
  3. If we cannot get to you in a timeframe that helps, we say so rather than taking the job and arriving at midnight.
  4. The van carries hose, fittings and the crimper, so the repair happens on the first visit in the large majority of cases.
FAQs

Common questions

What counts as an emergency?

A machine that cannot work, or cannot be moved, until the hydraulics are fixed. If the plant is off hire tomorrow or the site is blocked, that is an emergency. A weeping fitting on a spare machine usually is not, and we will book that in normal hours for less money.

How much more does an out-of-hours callout cost?

More than a daytime visit, and you will be told the figure on the phone before we leave. What we will not do is quote you a daytime rate and add the out-of-hours premium to the invoice afterwards.

Do you charge to come and look?

No. If we come out and the job turns out to be something we cannot fix, you are not paying for the visit. That is deliberate, because it means we have no reason to talk up a repair.

What if the machine is on a live site or the highway?

Tell us when you call. Access, permits, signing and whether there is a banksman all change how long the job takes, and it is much better to know before we arrive than after.

Can you come out at the weekend?

Yes. Weekends are often when plant gets moved and hoses get found, so it is a normal part of the work rather than an exception.

Machine down? We can usually be with you the same day.

Tell us the machine, the hose and where you are. We will tell you honestly whether we can reach you and what it will cost before we set off.
