Our Two-Year Warranty

What the two-year warranty on hoses and fittings covers, what it does not, and how to make a claim.

Every hydraulic hose and fitting we supply carries a two-year warranty against failure in normal use. That is longer than most, and it is worth explaining why we can offer it and exactly what it means.

Why two years is realistic

A hose assembly fails early for a small number of reasons, and nearly all of them happen while it is being made: mismatched components, a crimp diameter that is out, skiving a fitting that should not be skived or not skiving one that should, or debris left in the bore.

Get those right, using properly matched hose, ferrule and insert crimped to the manufacturer specification, and a hose lasts as long as its working conditions allow. The warranty is a statement about how we build them, not a gamble.

What is covered

  • The hose we supplied, against manufacturing or assembly failure.
  • The fittings we supplied, against the same.
  • Failure of our workmanship on the assembly, including crimp failure and leaks at a fitting we made up.

What is not covered

These are the honest exclusions, and they are the same ones any hose manufacturer applies:

  • Abrasion. A hose worn through by rubbing has been damaged from outside. Where we spot a chafing point we will tell you and fix the routing where we can, but we cannot warrant against the machine wearing the hose away.
  • Crush and impact damage. Something stood on it, closed on it, or struck it.
  • Operating outside the rating. A hose run above its rated working pressure or temperature.
  • Contamination damage. Where debris already in the system damages the new assembly.
  • Modification. An assembly that has been altered, re-terminated or fitted with different ends after we supplied it.
  • Fair wear on a high-duty circuit. Some applications simply consume hose. We will tell you up front where that is the case.

Making a claim

Call us. Keep the failed assembly if you safely can, because the failure mode is usually visible on the hose itself and it settles the question quickly.

If it is a genuine assembly failure we will put it right. If it is abrasion or crush damage, we will show you what we are looking at and explain why, rather than simply declining.

The honest bit

A warranty is only as good as the willingness to honour it. Ours exists because we would rather build assemblies properly than argue about them, and because on our patch reputation travels faster than advertising.

Full terms are available on request, and we would rather answer a warranty question before you book than after something fails.

FAQs

Common questions

Does the warranty cover the labour to refit?

Please confirm the current position when you book, as this is the detail people most often want in writing.

What if the hose was damaged rather than faulty?

Abrasion, crushing and impact damage are not manufacturing faults and are not covered. We will always tell you which one we think it is, and if a hose we fitted failed because we routed it badly, that is on us.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell the machine?

Ask us at the time. It is not a problem in principle but it needs recording against the assembly.

Machine down? We can usually be with you the same day.

Tell us the machine, the hose and where you are. We will tell you honestly whether we can reach you and what it will cost before we set off.
